No Brightwells auction without an Austin! But there is more...

Rover, Packard, Sunbeam, Riley, Alvis, Morgan, Crossley, Vauxhall, Stanley and Maudslay, Brightwells has it all. And of course, do not forget the selection Austin's! No Brightwells auction with at least one Austin! Today we show you a small but fine selection of PreWarCars that will be auctioned in the upcoming Leominster Classic & Vintage Cars and Motorcycles sale on Wednesday the 10th of July.

It is Tickford Time! First, have look at this 1939 Rover 14/6 P2 Tickford DHC. A very rare Tickford-built Drophead Coupe. One of only around 177 dropheads made. Or do you prefer this 20 hp Sunbeam Cabriolet with Tickford hood? The 1933 car comes with a type-written list (7 pages long) of journeys made by car and owner over their thirteen-year partnership. How wonderful is that! From the same stable comes this 1926 Crossley 14hp tourer. The Crossley was imported from Australia in 1990 and there are 18 old MOT certificates with the car, from 1991 to 2012. Just as the Sunbeam the owner has used the car extensively over his 28-year ownership. Hopefully, the new owner can enjoy the car just as much.

Another make we do not come across that often is Maudslay. The car offered is a 17hp model, built in 1909, retaining its original four-cylinder 3.3-litre engine with dual magneto and coil ignition and four-speed gearbox. This car is believed to be the only surviving short chassis model and the earliest 17hp example of any Maudslay motorcar still in existence.

Besides the above-mentioned cars, a 1932 Riley 9 Monaco with a pre-selector gearbox is offered. The Riley recently had its engine rebuilt. And what do you think of this robust steam powered 1922 Stanley 735B? From experience, we can tell you it is hard work. But once you get the hang of it, you fill her up with water and the open road is yours!

Then the well-known selection of Austin's on offer! This time we have a lovely bright red 1927 Austin 7 Top Hat Saloon and a little bit more spacious 1927 Austin 20/4 Tourer. Then there is also a 1934 Austin 10/4, an Austin 7 ‘Penrock’ special, an Austin 7 Pearl Cabriolet and a two-seat tourer. On top of that, there are more PostWar Austins!

It might sound a little bit cliché, but something for (pretty much) everyone. Certainly, if you would like to become the owner of an Austin there is definitely enough choice. Click here to have a look at the other PreWarCars that will be auctioned by Brightwells on the 10th of July 2019.

The estimates seem awfully low to me.

Prices in the UK are a lot more reasonable, for generally speaking better cars, than europe. Especially with the weak GBP, sometimes half or even a third of the ridiculous asking prices in Europe and as for auction prices here, including the larcenous commission charges, are even more ridiculous!

Not often I extoll the UK as an example but in this case it's much more realistic. But, of course, you have to deal with Perfidious Albion!
