Our cheerful little Austin friends!

Also this time they are available in all shapes, sizes and conditions. Our cheerful little Austin friends! Brightwells have become THE experts. Which types are on offer and what else is there to bid on?

The first one is this cheerful 1930 Austin 16/6 Pass & Joyce Magnet Coupe, which was discovered by the previous owner, languishing in a Welsh barn in 1979 in a dilapidated and dismantled state. It is one of just three cars especially bodied by Weymann under instruction from Pass & Joyce, a London distributor for Austin and Sunbeam with showrooms in the West End. Very likely also the sole survivor. It took Mr Jones, the previous owner, (a whooping) 24 years to completely restore the two-tone green Magnet Coupe! The whole process being exhaustively documented. Since 2003 RB 2297 is back on the road and still has only covered 814 miles. So we do hope the new owner will get it out of the garage and add some numbers to the numerator!

We just love the sales pitch the auction house wrote for this 1927 Austin 7 Chummy. “Sitting on correct 19” wheels, the only thing it has not had since the restoration work was finished is a comprehensive shake-down, so its lucky new owner will simply have to plan multiple journeys to the pub – what a shame…” The other Austins for sale are a 1934 Two-Seat Tourer and a slightly larger 1933 Austin 7 Four-Seat Tourer that is in a wonderful condition all around. But then there is also this rather sporty looking 1932 Austin 7 Gordon England Special with a Cup-style body. Do you like it?

And there is more...

Other PreWarCars on offer are a comfortable 1938 MG VA Saloon, a Lagonda LG45 Tourer to cover long distances, a 1924 Citroen 5CV Cloverleaf T3-2 which is designed by Edmond Moyet (soon to be of Amilcar fame). And this charming 1934 Singer Le Mans is ready for immediate fun, it is not back long from the National Singer weekend.

All the above mentioned classics will be auctioned on Wednesday the 4th of September 2019 in the Brightwells Leominster Classic & Vintage Cars and Motorcycles Auction. Would you also like to have a look at the other lots that will be sold? Click here.
