Paul DeLucchi decided to pull his PreWarBuick into the parking lot at PreWarCar.com, where you can enjoy it untill Paul decides to take the wheel again (click). For the time being, PreWarBuick will remain static (Buick-minded sponsors are welcome to send proposals). We may build some small changes into the website, but nothing dramatic or spectacular. As he was handing over the contact keys to us, Paul received the above photo: "Just when I thought I had seen everything, the attached photo arrived via email from Gene McVey of Boise, Idaho, who found it at an estate sale. Who is this fellow? He's not from my branch of the DeLucchis. What type of car is that? A racing special, plainly, but based on what car? The Lutgen photography studio is based in Berkeley, just across the bay from San Francisco, and auto racing was popular in this area in 1936. Believe I can see a five-pointed star on the grease caps; a clue? Six-lug wheels, but that doesn't narrow it down appreciably. Radiator shell is distinctive but doesn't call out any marque names to me, at least not from this angle." E-mail your answers to Paul. (photo by Lutgen , 1936 ; click for full Midget Racer)
