RIP Roger Twelvetrees

Roger Twelvetrees had been a member of the Vintage Sports-Car Club (VSCC) since the early 1970s and during the 1980s he achieved his ambition of racing a pre-war car. Work pressure and family budgets meant that racing took a back seat during the 1990s, when he began marshalling at the Measham Night Rally. This led to a bit of an obsession with the Measham and so it was inevitable that his return to competition was on the Measham in the 2000s, in a Riley, one of his beloved marques. Around this time Edwardians also captured his imagination and he achieved his ambition to own one with the Buick D45 in 2005, regularly taking part in hill climbs and race meetings. Mallory Park was one of Roger’s favourite places and it is some consolation that he left us doing something that he truly loved at a place he loved. Thank you and fare well our friend.

Roger will truly be missed, my thoughts go to his family & friends. It’s very sad that he’s gone, but in a car that he enjoyed and loved, probably still driving to the race track in the sky.
Fare well.
Mark
