When one thinks of veteran cars, the first thing that comes to one's mind is the famous London to Brighton Run. One of the oldest events for motoring cars is held every year in the first weekend of November.
During the upcoming Concours d'Elegance Soestdijk in The Netherlands, there will be an ode to this event with a special class for automobiles built before 1904. As some of you may know, the staff of PreWarCar.com has a special interest in the early cars and we are therefore pleased to work together with the organisation of Concours Soestdijk. This year we will show the very beginning of the cars that we know today to a bigger audience.
The PWC team will start on Saturday morning the 24th of August with a pile of parts with the challenge to get a 1903 car running on Sunday afternoon (the 25th of August). We can assure you, this will be quite a challenge!
Besides this, we are hoping for a lovely concours with a good number of quality cars. Yes, cars that are ready and in good condition. Already some nice cars have registered. What to think about a big 1904 Aster, an impressive 1904 Societe Manafacture D’Armes and the sporty Star. Or the lovely small De Dion Bouton Vis-a-Vis. Or perhaps you prefer an electric car, like the 1902 Waverley that will quietly come to the palace garden but will definitely get the attention of the crowds. But the class is not complete yet and we would like to invite you to bring your pre-1904 car. Please send an email to [email protected] or register directly through their website if you would like to come.
Let's make a proper veteran style party! We hope to see you all there!
