St. James's Motoring Spectacle 2024
In addition to the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, another highlight of the first weekend in November is the St. James's Concours, which takes place on the Saturday preceding the run. The concours d'élégance for veteran cars was, in the last two years, held on Marlborough Road, but this year it expanded to take up the length of Pall Mall, before the grand façade of the Royal Automobile Club. Some seventy-five veterans were on show, dating back to an 1894 Benz Velo, and among them were to be seen both cars with rich and storied histories, and others newly emerged from fresh restorations. The veterans were accompanied by a number of post-war motoring exhibits which provided further interest.
The St. James's Motoring Spectacle was organised by the Royal Automobile Club and seems to have been a great success. We're looking forward to seeing what they have in store for 2025.
