The 100 Miles of Ypres - Cancelled
Dear The 100 Miles enthusiasts
For nearly a year now the world has been battling the infamous COVID virus. There have been moments where the situation seemed to get better, but we never had the virus under full control. In Belgium we have been in a semi-hard lockdown since the end of October, where we are prohibited from public gatherings, have a curfew at midnight and restaurants, pubs and a lot of cultural events have been closed. But last and most importantly, the borders are closed for all non-essential trips.
Whilst the initial December date for The 100 Miles of Ypres was not achievable with the number of infection that were identified every day. We were under good spirits that by now the situation would have come to a level where the various governments could allow for an event to be organised.
Unfortunately as the title of this newsletter would suggest, we no longer see the possibility for The 100 Miles of Ypres to go ahead on Saturday March 13th 2021. We will not be postponing this edition as The 100 Miles has and will always be a winter night rally.
As for the future, we hope to invite you to the true 2021 edition of The 100 Miles, This edition will be announced in the upcoming months, so keep an eye on our social media and your mailbox
For you as a competitor, we are sorry to take away this opportunity for you to participate in this year’s event of ‘The 100 Miles’. We are currently working on refunding you in full, so this should become visible onto your account in the next few days. If you would have more questions, please feel free to contact us.
We hope to see you all during "The 100 Miles of ..." next winter.
Kindest regards
Michael & Lawrence Bossaert
