The Automobile, 30 years. Now three times thicker.

Our sister magazine 'The Automobile', the only monthly magazine in the world devoted to the kind of cars we all love at PreWarCar-PostWarClassic, is 30 years old! To celebrate, the publishers have produced an Anniversary Special Edition with more than three times as many editorial pages as usual.

Specially commissioned features include an in-depth interview with Stirling Moss and a long look at the Embiricos Bentley with Brian Sewell, the London Evening Standard's acerbic art critic. Lancia expert Steady Barker samples an ultra-rare works Lambda sports-racer, while Simon Moore traces the histories of the four surviving 1908 Isotta Fraschini voiturettes. Stefan Marjoram shares some of his photographs and illustrations documenting the rebuild of the Fiat S76, The Beast of Turin.

From Keith Bluemel comes the moving story of how he reunited 1950s racing legend Giannino Marzotto with his Mille Miglia-winning Ferrari 166, and David Burgess-Wise gets his hands on the fabled Gasque Phantom, a lavish Rolls-Royce limousine built in 1926 for one of the Woolworth heirs and still in untouched condition.

PreWarCar Editor Rutger Booy is a contributor, writing about Hemmo de Groot's one-off MG TA Park Ward, and there are articles about the ex-Howard Hughes Doble steamer, the supercharging story of René Cozette, the genesis of the Lincoln-Zephyr, the first ever race meeting at Goodwood, and much, much more.

The 30th Anniversary Edition does not form part of a subscription to The Automobile. Published on 6th December, it is available in plenty of time for Christmas at GBP £9.95, including UK postage. Demand is already heavy. Go to www.theautomobile.co.uk to secure your copy. Overseas postal charges are set out there, and you can order and pay online.
