Remember Harry from Holland who won a painting of his pick-up truck about a year ago? (check earlier feature) He is so happy with this truck that he bought yet another pick-up. A 1940 Chevy. Not a barnfind, but like Harry tells us: '... a behind the barn find'. He had to do some serious woodcutting before he could take the Chevy home. The 'as found' position resulted in a spectacular photo and Harry decided to go back to CarsArt.com who also made the first painting. Isn't that the kind of location and atmoshere we all want when undigging a Delage, Packard, Hispano or whatever your dream car looks like? (edit. can you tell where we go wrong? [email protected])
UPDATEs came in from Dick Trenk: "Certainly no 1940 Chevy design and indicate postwar styling. Also this huge vehicle certainly does not qualify as a pickup truck. It appears to be a 3 ton or larger truck." Kit Foster:"I'm afraid that Harry has not found a 1940 Chevy. It's not
a pickup and it's not 1940 and it's not a Chevy - it's not even prewar.
It's one of these Ford cab-over.
" and Peter Pegg:"It is neither 1940 nor Chevrolet. I would suggest
that it is a 1948 to 1950 Ford COE (cab over engine) truck."
