'The family was not amused...'

Harm Noorman (NL) sends this photo of a chaming young lady on the running board of a C4 Amilcar. It is his late grandmother: "My grandma went for a holiday in Switzerland with this car in 1930. It was very unusual - not to say 'not done' -for a young woman in her twenties to go for a holiday with a gentleman while unmarried...! Also this man was not my later grandfather. From my father (the son who came eventually) I understand that 'the Swiss trip' was not a popular topic in family circles... At the same time my grandmother did not make a secret of the trip.
(editor: a modern self assured woman, very much in the Amilcar tradition of Isadora Duncan. Who by the way lived in Noordwijk, Netherlands for some time in 1906.
