The first cars to race the Nürburgring.

One of the smallest cars around at Montlhéry was this one cylinder 500 cc 1925 Hanomag Nürburgring Special. In fact it is a Kommisbrot(thank you Andrei Bogomolov!) without coachwork. Click here for the simple engine. Small but of great historical importance while these cars did the opening race at the Nürburgring exactly 75 year ago. Next weekend the Hanomag Nürburgring Specials will do their historical race once again. (photos by editor)
