If you haven’t heard of Frenay before, don’t worry. Neither had we, but luckily we have our trusty Georgano’s bible to help us out. He tells us that it was a neat-looking two-seater made in Belgium with a pointed radiator rather like that of a Métallurgique. It had a 10/12hp four-cylinder Ballot engine. It was introduced only three months before the outbreak of World War I and therefore not many were made. We now know of one partial survivor as Niilo Säntti from Finland sent us these pictures of the engine and radiator he owns. They are mounted on part of a frame that bears the date “1.5.1912HS”. This seems strange as the Frenay was not announced until the end of 1913. Who can shed some light on this marque? How many were made? Are there more survivors? Any pictures? Niilo (and we) would like to know!
I would like to have copies of Frenay catalogue
