Congratulations guys!!! Well done!!
Some minor problems with the Lucenti but all three cars made it to the finish in Bologna!
The day is going relatively well. We were driving behind a fantastic Alfa Romeo 8C Monza, so the view is great. The Lucenti had some difficulties with cooling in the mountains and as we are using the fan a lot, the battery is flat. We just added a new one in and we are ready for the next part of the day. We must arrive in Rome before 9.00 o’clock. It will be tough to make it in time.
The Berlinetta is performing like a modern car, no problems at all. The RL is also going like a train. Only one little light came loose and we lost it. But no other big issues so far.
We will give an update later.
Have a look at the new photographs of the second day of the Mille Miglia!
We are ready for the next stage.. destination: ROME!
Unfortunately, a massive screw (see photographs) ended up in the tire of the Alfa Romeo RL yesterday. Flat tire… But apart from that everything went well. The people on the side of the road are so super excited to see all the PreWarCars and PostWarClassics passing by! And for us participants it amazing to drive between all these beauties!
All three cars made it to the finish and with that completed the first day!
May is always the time of one of the greatest classics car events in the world: the Mille Miglia! Cars, participants and visitors from all over the world come together in Brescia to experience this spectacular event.
Last year we participated with a 1944 Alfa Romeo 6C2500 Berlinetta and a 1955 FIAT 1100. This year we are participating with three cars, namely a 1923 Alfa Romeo RL, a 1932 Graham-Paige Eight 'Lucenti Indianapolis' and again the 1944 Alfa Romeo 6C2500. On Monday and Tuesday, we did all the checks at the Fiera di Brescia and passed through everything without any problem. The Fiera turns into a moving museum, but also Brescia itself. The sealing of the cars at the Piazza della Vittoria is perhaps the highlight of the day. You don't believe your eyes what great cars you see. The whole city breathes cars and the crowd is so enthusiastic. This will help us definitely through the coming days! On Wednesday the first car will depart at 02.30 PM and every 20 seconds a car will leave.
Keep an eye on the website, our Facebook and Instagram for live updates of this fantastic event!
In bocca al lupo!
