The ex King Edward VIII Mc Laughlin Buick. This customised 1936 Buick L90 limousine was specially ordered by Prince Edward VIII. In january 1936 King George V died and Edward became King, only to abdicate the throne in december of the same year for reasons that led to a mayor constitutional crisis. '.......I have to tell you that I have found it impossible to carry the heavy burden of responsibility and to discharge my duties as King as I would wish to do without the help and support of the woman I love.....' This very special limousine was the place where Edward had many 'entre-nous' with his beloved Wallace Simpson. And the car had no problem whatsoever to accomodate them. In the sixties the car was in the ownership of Nicola Bulgari, the famous jeweller. In 2001 the car was under auction at Ebay, end of auction 14 September.
