The Orfeon Gramophone Company Mystery (Upd. Fiat 501 or 501 S)

The snapshot of this roadster comes from the collection of Hugo Strötbaum, who is doing research into the first record companies. The photo was taken in Turkey presumably in Istanbul in the 1930s. Cars in those days especially in Turkey were extremely rare and expensive to import. The driver is probably Herman or Julius Blumenthal, the founders of Turkey’s first independent gramophone company, the Orfeon Gramophone Company. The Orfeon record label independently produced and manufactured records from 1910/11 till the end of the nineteen twenties. By identifying the mark and model Hugo may have some indication how to date the picture. The body of this roadster looks to be engine-turned aluminum, and maybe the big radiator mascot could be a clue. Your ideas are welcome!

1919-26 Fiat 501 with special body, or more probably one of its sportier sisters 501s and 501ss. They were made from 1921 onwards.

No clues are needed. The car is an early non front braked FIAT 501, possibly an 'S', with later wheels and balloon tyres. If anyone can help me with an ammeter (Western Electric) for a 501 I'd be very pleased to hear from them. Mine blew out the resistance coil yesterday!

It looks like a Fiat 501 or maybe a 501S. Two wheel brakes say it is fairly early. The wheels were possibly supplied with the tyres as it would have been on skinny beaded edge tyres originally. Or maybe they are just regular wheels from a 503 or similar.

The car is a Fiat 501. Possibly a 501S judging by the butterfly mudgaurds and roadster body, but I am sure Fiat experts out tehre will be able to provide more detail.
