The 1700 plus cars on these pages are no ordinary wheels. Many times they are - or were - part of somebody's life. Not when they left the showroom new and untouched. Nor when they gradually became plain old cars. Leaking, scruffy, rusty and a 'For Sale' carton behind the windscreen. Untill that undefined moment when someone gave one of those a second look, thinking. 'Well they were not that bad in their time.' In fact that's the exact moment a car becomes a classic. Somebody will keep it, maintain it, love it. And after 20 years or more a car like that will become a member of the family. When suddenly, often not expected, the time has come that the car must go. For one of ten thousand reasons. We all know the feeling when we wave away a car like that. My webfriend Mark is now close to this point. He has to say goodbye to the T 35C of the family. For him that's the end of a chapter. (photo Mark Albada Jelgersma)
