It is almost the end of the year. 2020 was a year we will not forget in a hurry - for so many reasons.

Today we look back on the last 12 months. We solved many mysteries, identified and traced back cars from the family album, shared a lot of very different PreWarCar pictures and have met some real passionate readers and their vehicles. We have seen some wonderful parts, motorbikes and cars being sold and, hopefully, you learned a lot from our informative articles. We would very much like to thank you all for your input and sharing your passion with enthusiasts all around the world.

Today we have the Top 10 Best Read Articles that were published in our online magazine at PreWarCar.com in 2020.

1. Now that’s a fancy tractor! About a mighty motor being converted into a tractor. The base vehicle is said to be a Buick, but could it possibly be a Packard? Read the full story here.

3. This rebodied 8C 2300 Panoramica was alive in 1975. We received some pictures from reader Rob Mellaart, and immediately recognized this car as the Zagato-bodied Alfa 2500 SS ‘Panoramica’. Actually, it turned out that the car wasn’t a 6C 2500 but an 8C 2300 of 1933 vintage that had been re-bodied by the Milanese carrozzeria in 1943. Read the full story here.

4. Was Jakarta Delahaye a Figoni & Falaschi? Another photo sent in by the same reader from the Netherlands. Taken by his father in Jakarta, Indonesia back in 1975. Information on the vehicle in question was somewhat limited. Read the full story here.

7. This impressive Itala 35/45hp needs your help with her early history! Any way you look at it, this car is impressive. Not only is it reliable and strong (with its 7.5l engine), but most parts on the car seems to be original. 8. A road trip with two Land Speed Record cars - captured on camera. In a time where classic car events seem so far away due to Covid-19, it is perhaps even nicer to look back at great events from an earlier period. That is what Stefan Marjoram did - a highly talented photographer and sketcher who went on a road trip to Gaillon, France. He and his friends took two Land Speed Record cars - the impressive 200hp Darracq from 1905 and the mighty Beast of Turin, the Fiat S76. Read the full story here.

And most of us who have carried out one (or more) such restoration(s) will confirm that part of the fun is researching your car’s history.
