An Edwardian Sports Car Mystery (update: 1907 or 1908 Scout )

Update: It looks like Ariejan Bos cracked the mystery once more, check this page about Percy Dean and Scout Motors of Salisbury.

Earlier text:
Peter McGann sends a photo of an unknown edwardian sports or racing car.
"The cars owner was Major Adrian Gilbert Scott, architect, son of the famous architect George Gilbert Scott who had just been married (on the 20/2/1918) to Barbara Hemy (passenger in the photo), daughter of the famous marine artist and royal academy member Charles Napier Hemy. I am told this was taken as they left the church after the wedding, the flowers and ribbons on the door handle attesting to this. This image is from the family history of the Hemy family prepared by Margaret Powell (Nee Hemy) , daughter of Barbara. The registration number of the car is AC 1125."

Another photo, most probably taken at the same location is to be found at Remember Falmouth. Although that photo is of much better quality it does not give away much more detail. The boattail racing body seems to have an alloy glow with two seat cut outs. Maybe the work is not yet finished as there are frontwings but nothing at the back. Barbara seems to have changed clothing between the two photos. Anyway on our photo the view on the round shoulder radiator and dashboard with oilers is better. Also take note of the protruding frontwheel axle stubs,  the early steering wheel, the rear suspension with stabilising bars and the transverse mounted exhaust muffler. Already we're looking forward to read your comments.

Can you imagine, sitting behind the wheel of a racing behemoth, with dual fuel tanks on either side of you carrying 400L. of methanol, what fun to think you are so low to the ground, the best the world would ever see.

The 1909 delivery is just gorgeous, and suitably proportioned even for America.
The "five point" steering wheel of the custom appears "out of place", can it be verified if it also was an addition?

Not an easy task this one. Until now I could only find one make, which seems to fulfill most of the requirements. And the suspected model was at the time of the photo at least 10 years old: a 1907 or 1908 Scout. The torpedo body is obviously a home-made product of a young enthusiast and placed on what could have been the old car of his father. The whole was undoubtedly a keyfactor in the seduction of miss Barbara Hemy!

The rear chassis extensions, non - detachable wheels and the oiler make this car probably much earlier than 1914.
Ac is a Warwickshire registration and the records exist in Warwick back as far as 1903 so shouldn't be too hard to find the marque
