We get lots of requests from people who want to know the value of their car. It’s virtually impossible for us to do so, as to really value a car you have to see it in the flesh, so to speak. An example of this kind of request comes from John Ecklund who lives in Argentina and sends these pictures of an Citroën Traction Avant. He told us that he saw it in Mendoza and that rust is not a problem as the Citroën lived its life in a dry desert area.
John revealed that it’s a 1940 model 11BL (seriaL NR. # 73611), which is nice and in our view the project is certainly worthwhile to restore, yet to attach a pricetag on this challenging restoration job is quite something else. FYI, there is no bonnet and as you can see the gearbox casing has a serious crack. So here you see our problem, there’s no way for us to value this Traction properly. But maybe you can hazard a guess?
