Wanted: a pre-war star for the Beaulieu Autojumble

We may still be a month away, but doubtless a lot of people will now be thinking about the Beaulieu Autojumble, which, as we're sure you all know, is the place to visit if you're hunting for a rare part, looking for an unusual project to take on, or simply in the mood for browsing an interminable assortment of motoring curiosities.

For us at PreWarCar.com, it's an unmissable event, which is why we'll be there once again with our stand prominently visible in its regular spot by the main crossroads. As usual, we'll be displaying a pre-war car which is a little bit out of the ordinary, although as yet we don't know exactly what car that's going to be. That's where you come in: if you've got an interesting vehicle, we'd like to hear from you. Maybe it's a rare or unique survivor from a forgotten marque, or maybe it's a faithful everyday car which has been in continuous use for many years, aging gracefully through your ownership. Maybe it's something you've just dragged out of a shed and are about to restore, or maybe you've just finished the restoration and it looks as good as new. Any one of those things would be very much at home on the PreWarCar.com stand.

Visitors to our stand last year will have seen our magnificent 1904 Otto chassis for restoration, which our chief mechanic Jos van Genugten fired up over the course of the weekend. On other occasions, our exhibits have included a Lancia Ardea streamliner special and an unrestored 1936 Lancia Augusta with an MGA engine, which we worked hard to unseize. What could it be this year?

Whatever you've got, we'll be very pleased to hear from you. If you'd like to exhibit your car with us, please e-mail [email protected]. Should you have a post-war star we really need to see, we'd love to hear about it too.

Exhibitors will be required to arrange their own transport and ensure that their vehicle is in place before the show opens on the Saturday morning, where it must remain until it closes on the Sunday evening. The Beaulieu International Autojumble takes place from half past eight on Saturday, September 14th, to half past four on Sunday, September 15th. Adult tickets start from £14.50 for one day or £28.00 for both. For more information about times and prices, click here.
