Watch that Falcon go sky-high! Or not?

H&H, who will offer this 1928 Falcon-Knight Model 12 Tourer during their next auction on February 26, give an estimate of 10.000-12.000 pounds (17.000-20.000 US dollar / 12.000-14.500 euro). However, we think a nice example like this one could (no, should!) fetch more than that. Never heard of the Falcon-Knight? Don't be embarrassed.

It is indeed a make that was only produced during a few years (1927 to 1929) by Willys and was an intermediate between the Whippet and the Willys-Knight. Only a little more than 10.000 were sold. Many were exported, like this particular model with Right Hand Drive that was sold in Australia and given a body by Holden. Having been in the same family for its first sixty years, it has wonderful patinated paintwork. As very few Falcon-Knights remain and even less come on the market, (only two others were ever advertised on PreWarCar) we expect this oily-rag competitor to go way past its estimate. Will we be proven right? Let's make this a small contest... why don't you tell us your estimate for this Falcon-Knight. The one that comes closest to the hammer price will receive the PreWar dashboard plate. Your estimates will be published after auction.

Update: Well, according to our readers this Falcon should be worth somewhere between 8,000 and 41,600 pounds. A fairly wide range indeed. But truth be told, the estimate of H&H was very realistic, in auction the Falcon fetched 12,320 pounds. That means that Mike Costigan is the winner of this contest with his estimate of 12,500 pounds. Well done Mike! Send us your mail address and you'll receive the PreWar dashboard plate asap.

I think buyers will be frightened off by the Knight sleeve-valve engine, so I think it will not top £12,500.

oh it must be worth a fortune! they only made 10000! With the rust and worn out paint is just beauty epitomised. It was aimed at the middle market and became so iconic that no one has heard of them, not even in the car community, making part sourcing on par with that of model Ts or V8 fords. It just ticks all the right boxes. it even has touring body work which is just perfect for those English summers adding to its appeal,,, I would have thought that I could thoroughly enjoy it at least two weekends a year! assuming that the motor and drive train are in order.
value area 4 to 5 k GBP
auction 8 to 9 K
shame it is not a 1941 2dr coupe ,,, then u would get your cash
