We are sure the car can do many more happy (family) miles!

Bicester Classic & Vintage will be held during the 2018 Classic & Sports Car Show. The event will take place in less than 2 weeks. Both vintage cars and motorcycles will be auctioned by Bicester on Sunday the 24th of June 2018 at 12:00.

A wide variety of makes and types will be sold from 1923 up to 2014. But of course, we are only interested in the pre-wars. Look for instance at this 1923 Model T Ford Tudor, or this adorable 1932 red and black Morris Minor Tourer, and if you would like to take your mother in law out for the day (on the dickey-seat) this 1931 Sunbeam 16/18.2 Drophead Coupe might be the car for you.

But our interest goes to this 1937 MG SA Charlesworth four-door tourer which is for sale. Very likely thousands of people have passed the garage in which this MG has been parked since the mid-60s. None of them knew what was behind the closed door…

Unfortunately, this also meant that the car has not been looked at for many many years. But now it is time to blow new life into the car. We must admit it is a real project that needs some work to it, but definitely worthwhile if you ask us. And why not if you have the time? Or do not have the time, but do have the money. We think the estimate of £4 000 - £8 000 is a very reasonable price. Which can increase tremendously after a good and thorough restoration.

This very stylish MG SA Charlesworth Tourer, Type 1 was first registered in January 1937 and was re-registered in 1962 with the current number TJR 179. The black MG comes with an old Buff log book, which confirms this is a matching number car. With chassis n° 1318 and engine n° QPHG 1571. The powerful six-cylinder engine has a capacity of 2,288 cc.

This roomy and rare Mk1 Charlesworth-bodied Tourer is one of the only five left in the world, which is still on the road. One other one is known to be in the United Kingdom. Old photographs that come with the car show it in much happier times, in a much happier condition when it was obviously a much-loved family car. Wouldn`t it be wonderful to ring back these good old days? If you have the possibility to restore this 1937 MG SA, we are sure the car can do many more happy (family) miles!

On Saturday the 23th of June from 9:00 until 18:00 and on the day of the sale there is a possibility to view all the vehicles.
