Remember our recent article about the Brough Superior? The genuine car appeared to be still around and now even Archie’s head has turned up! Martin Jubb found it in his attic and we couldn’t resist showing it to you. The mascot is hollow brass and weighs 1 lb and is about 3 inches high with a threaded hole in the base. Archie’s head is unpolished but scratching the base shows a nice shiny brass under the patina. He seems to have the remains of tape glue round his hair but this will come off. He did have a separate hinged lower jaw but unfortunately this is missing, giving him a strange expression! Now all we need is a Brough owner brave enough to mount it on his Superior.
Update by Martin Jubb himself: This is actually Archie Andrews' head not Archie Brough! I also have a photo I took of WH 7238 another Brough Superior, at Prescott. The two photos will accompany Archie wherever he goes.
