The history of today’s quiz starts with an American engineer who built a gasoline car in 1899, but soon switched to steam. In 1902 he persuaded two businessmen to invest in a new automobile company that was soon named after their hometown. The make was produced from 1903 until 1923, but the engineer left the company early to make another car under his own name. Without his inventive input, the two businessmen continued to produce conventional, well-built and durable automobiles. In 1913 they built one curiosity, a car that was steered from the back. Our quiz car has no such features. It dates from a year that the company built 1410 cars and has a 30hp water-cooled 4-cylinder engine. Do have a good look at the photo’s and tell us the make, model and year, but of course we photoshopped it a bit to hide the make’s name on the radiator.
