What to do with a lot of money? (updates: see read more)

You have seen this car before, didn’t you? No? Click the picture and of course you remember its star-role in the comic tv-series ‘The Beverly Hillbillies’ (pcperspectives.com). The opening credits showed the family leaving the Ozarks for California in their old flatbed truck after striking it rich from an oil gusher. Noticed those non-skid tyres (firestone100.com) on the truck? Terrific, ain’t it? We think the flatbed was originally an Oldsmobile, but are not sure. A hotrod version of this truck was made by George Barris and used in the 1993 movie of the tv-series. This replica is now being auctioned by Bonhams & Butterfields. It’s your chance to own a piece of cinematographic history… but not much else, in our opinion :-) (photo courtesy Pre-war Buick)
