Whatisit? Quiz # 325

This week's quiz car is so obscure, it's not even mentioned in Georganos's encyclopedia. So don't bother to go there, just rely on your memory if you have seen this car somewhere before. It was built by a French aeronautical engineer as a prototype. But it was built in a South-American country, not in France. It had an eight-cylinder, two-litre engine and had several innovative designs for its time. Can you tell us the make of this prototype and the year it was made.
