Where did the 1928 Isotta Fraschini # 1492 go ? (UPDATE: 1968...!)

Bue David-Andersen of Norway sends this photo of an Isotta which probably was sold new to Norway. David writes: "Can you help, we had (in Norway) a I-F 1928 which was probably sold in the 1970?? to the USA? We have tried to trace it but (so far) in vain. The frame no is 1492 it is a Cesare." (click photo for enlargement; the registration reads A.9419). When checking the zoom-in take note of the 'horse-blanket' over the bonnet of the car. Write to [email protected]. Now that we are talking Italian... we are proud to present the "versione Italiano" of the recently introduced S.C.A.T. website (mille grazie to Mr. & Mrs. Francesco Tondo!). For your full understanding, that website was commissioned by Atle Gandrudbakken - a Norwegian with a weak spot for the S.C.A.T. cars. Website development by PreWarCar/Yardstick.

UPDATE: Thorkild Langsaether reports (yes this is the father of Kjetil Langsaether !) : The Isotta Fraschini was sold to USA in 1968 (...) to a car dealer named J.L. Tallmann Inc, 1989 Shore Oak, Decatur ILL. Before the car was exported from Norway, it was stored in a barn. The headlight and some minor parts had been stolen from the car. They did not tap the cooling water before the car was put into storage. The motor block did crack. The dash mounted St. Christopher badge exists in Norway. The car participated in the first veteran car rally in Norway, and the badge from the rally still exists. My father has been told that the car was designed for a French Count. The car was designed for some sort of exhibition in Paris in 1929."
