Who knows about Dick Brockman?

Corinna from Oldtimer Rehberger in Germany: "About the 1927 RR PI Boattail Tourer (originally this Phantom I #95EF was bodied as an open tourer) we offer for sale we know that it was Dick Brockman who built the current body. He also built several Lagonda bodies in the 60s and 70s in GB. We know about two more identical bodies he built, one of those currently is in the USA. Dick Brockman died in the 80s. His workshop was at the following adress which is not accurate: The Vickery (Vickeroy, Victory ?) Farm, South Stoke, Oxfordshire in England. Joe Harding, who gave this address was not able to give me more information. Does anybody know what happened with the company or with the archives of Dick Brockman? Or who may have kept his notes and drawings?"

I worked for Peter Claridge at Southstoke for a number of years. He used to work for Dick Brockman. And I knew Dick Brockman for a few years before he passed away.

I new Dick before he started on cars. He use to do alloy fuel tanks & fairings for m/cycles. Had a work shop at Wokingham & also at Purley before going to South Stoke. I used his Triumph Thunderbird outfit for my "Honeymoon" in 1962. He had made his own body to fit a Canterbury chassis.

This brings back memories. In the early 1980's I took my 1936 Derby Bentley to a Rolls Royce specialist on the Vicarage estate, and he rebuilt the engine. I cannot remember his name now and doubtless he is long gone. The 1933 Talbot I have now was purchased from Malcolm Elder in 2003 at Middle Aston, near Bicester: this is a similar set up, with several classic motor companies situated on a farm estate. If you fancy a pleasant summer drive out in the Oxfordshire countryside these places are well worth a visit.

There are many car-related businesses at the Old Vicarage, South Stoke, so I imagine that was the address. The person there doing bodywork is Brian Martin. He may well know of Dick Brockman.

Might be Vicarage Farm, although the two words do not appear together in this version of South Stoke history:
