Now what was new to us is to find that this was the same year that Packard introduced car-airconditioning (cnn.com) ont the Super Eight (160) and CustomSuper Eight (180) models at an extra $ 275. Anyway it was not a bad idea, it was the year of the New York World Fair. But it took another two decades or so before sales really started to pick up.
