Winter driving with a Morris ISIS

While we were having The 100 Miles of Rotterdam in a winter scene last December, Jamie Robinson sent us a photo of his 'Winter driving'  in June, as Jamie is from New-Zealand. It is his 1931 Morris Isis Tourer on the Irishman`s rally, organised on the Queens birthday weekend (first weekend of June). We definitely like the main rule: your car has to been built before 1931. The route is mainly off-road.

When we thanked Jamie for the photo, he told us he is only 29 years old and that he got the PreWarCar bug from his father, of who he inherited his Morris-car when he was only 11 years old.

"It was all in parts and over the last few years, I have slowly put it back together. It is in as found condition (has not been painted/restored).

I have had the motor fully rebuilt, it is a rather interesting 2500cc ohc 6 cylinder engine that was shared with MG coupes of that era, with a slightly different cylinder head I'm told."

The Morris Isis name was first briefly used by Morris Motors Limited on a six-cylinder car made from 1929 to 1931. Around 7500 have been made in that period so there still must be more of them around. Jamie would like to get in touch with owners of similar cars. And perhaps track down some spare parts. Well, just keep an eye on our parts section.
