This fantastic Lagonda LG45 was purchased in the UK by Altena Classic Service on behalf of a customer. The Lagonda came in as a complete project car with a good chassis, poor bodywork, boxes of original parts and a (specialist) rebuilt engine in 2018. The axles and engine are original factory-fitted to the chassis and have “matching numbers”. On behalf of and according to our customer's wishes, a new body was custom-made in England. The wishes were: 2 doors, easy to operate hood, sporty looks, robust construction, safety and enough storage space. Altena Classic Service restored and rebuilt the chassis and mechanical parts, except for the engine and brakes, which had already been perfectly overhauled in the UK. After the bodywork arrived, Altena Classic Service and partners took care of the paintwork, custom interior, custom hood and completion of this beautiful Lagonda sport Special. During the rebuild, the original gearbox was replaced with a more robust and easier to operate fully synchronised Alvis four-speed gearbox, which significantly improves the driving experience! All original parts that came with the car, such as lamps, gauges and trim parts have been restored to their original glory and refitted. New 19-inch wire wheels and 6.50 x 19-inch Blockley tyres have been fitted. The car comes with a comprehensive restoration file, complete with invoices and the original drawings for the custom-built bodywork. No expense was spared to build this unique, great-looking and high-quality Lagonda Sport Special!
This Lagonda LG 45 Sports Special is a unique and fantastic vintage driver's car. The rare 4.5-litre six-cylinder inline engine is powerful and runs great. The Alvis gearbox is a joy to operate and the interior offers plenty of space, comfortable seats and a beautiful dashboard. Ample storage space for longer journeys and historic tours can be found behind the front seats and in the lockable boot. The car is in sublime condition and is ready to be enjoyed to the full! The current owner enjoyed the car during the Zandvoort Classic Revival, the Tulip Rally 2024 and on many more enchanting occasions! The car is currently registered in the Netherlands. The car can be exported to and registered in any country. This is a rare opportunity to buy a unique vintage Lagonda Sport Special, ready to enjoy!
