The early Grand Prix racing cars from DMG/Mercedes are still considered to be amongthe most technically impressive and significant ever built. Hailing from the fascinatingpioneering era of the automobile, they represent a time when proud automotivenations competed against each other internationally in highly dramatic racing events, showcasing their latest and most powerful products in their national colours.
Racing served as a crucial testing ground for new technologies. The 1908 Mercedes Grand Prix racing car, also known as the 140 hp, won the ACF Grand Prix in Dieppe, proving the reliability and performance of DMG technology under extreme conditions.
Innovations such as powerful four-cylinder engines and four-valve technology (introduced in 1914) were adopted directly for series production.
The Argentine manufacturer Pur Sang specialises in recreating historic racing cars in theform of high-quality replicas. Pur Sang has an excellent worldwide reputation for quality craftsmanship and attention to detail, fulfilling automotive dreams.
Original vehicles from this period are rarely preserved in their original condition. However, there is high demand for such vehicles in collections. For this reason, the Argentinian car manufacturer Pur Sang has produced a limited series of these iconicvehicles.
